Test the baby hoglin, zoglin, strider, panda & snifflet!
It’s the final babies! Do-do-do-doooo! Do-do-do-do-doooo! That’s right, the final batch of baby mob designs is now trotting, toddling, and rolling into testing. As if the farm, mount, aquatic, wild, and hostile babies weren’t enough trouble (for players in general but also Philza in particular – there, I said it), the baby hoglin, baby zoglin, baby strider, snifflet, and baby panda are now also here to steal the show in Java snapshot and Bedrock beta and preview.
But enough preamble! I’m now stepping away from my trumpet block not because my coworkers have repeatedly begged me to, but so I can give these critters a proper introduction:
Baby hoglin
Nether stampedes have never been cuter! With the baby-fied hoglin and its tiny tusks, tiny stripes, and tiny body roaming around, you need to be extra careful as to not get distracted and step into a lava stream by accident. Not only is their cuteness dangerous, but these little trotters are still as hostile as ever, so gush at your own peril!
Baby zoglin

Just as baby as a hoglin but with a dash of NOPE, the zoglin will strike fear (and confused affection) into those who see its new look, and its tusks into the ones who dare come closer. Will you risk it all for its disturbing cuteness?
Baby strider

Two player characters riding two stiriders surrounded by many baby striders
The baby strider has never been a cheerful little creature, and its new look hasn’t changed that one bit. If you have a soft spot for grumpy babies, then you'll be delighted by the baby strider’s aww-inspiring frown and tiny tuft of hair. Just make sure you have plenty of lava and a solid roof before you bring one home!
Snifflet

A snifflet surrounded by 3 sniffer eggs
These babies have always marched to the scent of their own nose, so it’s no surprise this new look preserves the snifflet's adorable snoot and sploot. These ancient-but-newly-hatched babies are now 749% more likely to steal your heart – and your scent trail.
Baby panda

No thoughts, just baby! Whether playful, aggressive, or weak and snotty-nosed, these fluffy little wonders and their new look bring nothing but pure-hearted, tumbling joy to the Overworld. Well, some slime, too, but that’s just a bonus! So what are you waiting for? Find two pandas, plant some bamboo, and get ready to meet these unreasonably cute babies in all their goofy glory!
And that’s all the redesigned baby mobs and features coming in our first game drop of 2026, now available to test, cuddle, and coo over in Java snapshot and Bedrock beta and preview. Who will be the baby mob of the year? No, forget that I asked. Even the idea of picking one feels deeply cruel and unfair.
How can I test these features?
You can test these features by enabling snapshots for Minecraft: Java Edition, or by enabling previews/beta* for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. To install a snapshot, open up the Minecraft Launcher and enable snapshots in the "Installations" tab. To turn on an experiment in preview/beta for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition follow these instructions.
